Could this be sleep apnea?

ok this family friend thats a lady has snored really really loud for as long as I can remember, I mean its the loudest snoring I have ever heard. Well sometimes she will be snoring and all of a sudden she justs starts coughing and this happens a few times and then she will start snoring again. One time she was snoring so loud it sounded like her throat was a vae like a snoring gargling sound at the same time and it got super loud and she started coughing. She denies she snores but knows it. She's a sort of high cl lady, I brought it up once and it embarred her she just said idk it might be something about my nose but she doesent have a narrow nose and she's not fat and she's not skinny just normal maybe a tiny bit overweight she's not at the least ugly. she has been snoring for years like this.
