How can I protect a signature on my guitar?

I got my Ibanez RG5EX1 signed by a famous guitarist the other day and I was wondering how to protect the signature. Unfortunately simply not playing it is not an option as it's my only electric and I don't have money for another one (and I don't want to sell it). I've seen suggestions ranging from nail polish to varnish, what would be the best option?
