How does evolution explain music?

Evolution does not explain how there is universal recognition of major and minor keys, intervals, octaves, and pitch among human beings. In addition to this, there is no explanation for the happy and sad connotations ociated with major and minor chords/keys/intervals and dissonance. Well, at least I've done my research and can't find any explanation for it.
