Cheerleading tryouts are soon! HELP?
Ok so for jumps STRETCH! Stretching really helps so try to stretch twice a day. Straddle's, pike's, splits, and back bends/bridges are all good. Also do leg lifts in a straddle (use ankle weights if you can). These will help your jumps a lot. They will give you a couple chants at tryouts and they will ask you to stunt so make sure you know how. If you don't tell your coach in advance so you don't get hut and you don't hurt anyone else. You should start taking tumbling cles now! It helps to have your back handspring or anything higher than that. Wear your hair in a high ponytail and use hairspray to keep it in place. Wear shorts and a t-shirt or tank top and cheer shoes (if you have them). If you want you can wear school colors but that might be a little excessive. Here is a tutorial that I like for bows a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP6uX2Ww_0E" rel="nofollow"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP6uX2Ww_…/a or if you want a more detailed one a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef4YuNGe89Y&feature=fvwrel" rel="nofollow"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef4YuNGe8…/a Try to make them in you school colors. DO NOT worry about your size. It does not matter! If you have a loud strong voice, good jumps, and sharp motions you will be good! Even after the season is over I tumble and stretch to get better so even if you don't make the team keep practicing and try again next year! I hope I helped and good luck!
